Reason Sampling Issue

Does anyone use the same sample with multiple devices?

Seems like I can't change the length/width of a sample (by going into Edit Sample and moving the L and R cursors) without changing the dimensions of the same sample on a different pad/device.

This is problematic because if I want to sample something on the Kong, for example, I can't use the same sample and just modify the left and right brackets because it will affect all the same samples. And if I click on Save with a different name, nothing gets saved (within the sample edit window).

This is a real workflow bummer Propellerheads

Yeah, this is the reason why I don't use R6 for my sample based beats. In Battery I can load up the same sample on multiple pads and edit the start and end of each pad separately. I'm sure there is a Reason guru who knows a way to do it.

Wow... lol.. wonder what they were thinking? This is a huge mistake. Hope they resolve it in version 7. This Kong would be so much more powerful with this feature (if I can even call it that).

Simple fix.

Go into the song samples folder. Duplicate & Rename the sample.

Posted via mobile device.

Did you try the duplicate function?

Use the tool window wave edit page and duplicate and adjust your samples there till your hearts content, and feel free to use them in any device you please.

I don't know what you mean by "duplicate function." Not on Reason right now, turned my computer off. So there's a function in the Tool window? I'll have to check that out. Didn't know about it. Still, would be nice to not have to do any duplicating, like with any sampler.

You can in Reason too but you have to understand how to use the software. Dude is copying the same copy of a sample over several pads they are all the same sample from the sounds of his explanation. He needs to make copies in the sample screen on the tool window and load each copy to its own pad not copy each pad once its loaded to say pad 1 like it sounds like he is doing.

what sampler have you used that doesn't duplicate like this? Maybe the newer ones sure but Reason's sampling concept for Kong is a jack right from the Mpc 2000. If you think like you are on a 2000 non xl you won't go wrong.
