i have a midi velocity and logic 9 midi velocity question???

so the other day when making a beat i decided to use my computer keyboard with full velocity to do the drums. it came out loud and clear especially with me learning new mixing tricks. so today i go back to remix an old beat that was horribly mixed, but the drums werent as loud. how can i set it up so that midi records at 127 velocity in logic everytime? i would just do this for drums.

also what do you guys do as far as velocity goes? just play out beats and mix after? i like how loud the drums were so i want it full velocity. the way i mix i dont have to worry about clipping.

Press command five and just raise the velocity on all the drums

In the inspector column for your MIDI track put-

Velocity: +63
Dynamics: Fixed

Dynamics set to fixed will trigger all MIDI at 64 then add the remainder with the velocity setting.
