A lil help filtering vocal samples

I looked around and didn't find what I was looking for but I'm trying to filter some music out of a track I'm trying to sample and not getting the results I want. So the filters in fl studio is not good enough or am I doing something wrong

There is only so much you can do unfortunately.

Keep playing around with it until you get close and call it.

Depending on when the song you're trying to sample was made, you could try messing with the polarity of one side to see if that helps, depending on what you're trying to do of course.

One some old recordings (a Sam Cooke song is what comes to mind), I've been able to mess with the polarity to drop vocals and the like.

effectively filtering a vocal sample with full instrumentation behind it pretty much only results in removing the bass from the equation so it doesn't clash....if the music behind the vocal doesn't go with what you're working on....you'll need to find a different sample.

This is your answer.

You can take it a step further using spectral manipulation but it is time consuming and technichally challenging. Look at something like IRIS.
