Thread Starter | help mixing r&b music vocals techniques i need to learn how to mix better especially vox, i use pro tools as my multiracker and mixing and mpc as main sequencer. it sounds great going into pro tools and it sounds great monitering in pro tools. i have every plug in imaginable including uad-1, etc. i have read the mixing books but they only talk about general techniques. And i have been told i have more than enough gear for an radio ready song. But i have noticed songs and reference cds sound a little warmer and smooth and silky compared to my mixes and the vocals sit much better. So how do i get my vocals to sound proffesional in the(sit) mix. like mary j recent album, including ne yo. thier vocals sit very nice. also justine timber lakes vocals. my vocal is mid mellow tenor. thnks for any help and can it be done itb without going to a big console(ssl and neve) help thks |
