Madlib's Needles

I know, another hilarious gear thread dedicated to a production hero's studio setup. I don't for the record believe if I buy Madlib's cartridges I'll suddenly get signed to Stones Throw and start releasing era-definiting hip-hop records. This is a gear forum - I want to understand what my favourite producers are using - and how that particular piece of gear might be contributing to their sound, not ape them completely.

That out of the way, below I've linked two super hi-res Madlib pictures from the Stones Throw site. If you open up both and view them at their actual size (properly zoomed in) you can see the carts he's using on his turntables. In the second picture, I'm pretty sure I can see a Shure Whitelabel, but I don't recognise what the first cartridge is, if anyone knows then please weigh in.

- Studio Picture 1

- Studio Picture 2

The third picture I've linked is another cartridge once again, it looks like an Ortofon/Stanton concord or something similar, but once again help is appreciated.

- Studio Picture 3

Finally, I can see what appears to be the same DJ mixer in each picture respectively. Does anyone know what it might be? [updated: Korg Kaoss Mixer KM-2 - thanks Hint]

Needless to say, if these kind of topics annoy you then save yourself 1 minute of your life and pass on by; any help you are willing to give me is greatly appreciated.

Peace!

Mixer is a Korg Kaoss mixer.

Yep - one cart is a Shure Whitelabel.
Not sure of the other - it's not clear enough in the picture, and there's loads of carts / needles in that shape. Might just be a case of doing an image search for concorde carts and looking for a similar colour combination.

Pic 1 & 2 look like Stanton's "Scratchmaster" needles, where they ripped off Ortofon's "Concorde" design. It's a little more bulky than Ortofon's design, try googling it.

Madlib often uses a portable tts which means he cares less about his needles and carts than you guys do since the pt01 and handytrax have horrible sounding carts

Madlib is king of the beats, true multi-instrumentalist and makes even jazz records.
