Omnisphere or Pro Tools Expansion Pack?

I've heard great things about both...unfortunately I only have enough $$ for either or..... I'm really looking for more sounds. More synths, more drums, more percs, etc.. as well as better quality sounds. I have no experience with either so hoping someone can tell me what they think and pound for pound which is the heavyweight when it comes to new sounds? My main daw is PT10.

I have PT 8. I would either go with the PT expansion or just get NI Komplete. I would lean more towards NI Komplete (which I own) since NI constantly updates it and 3rd party guys are constantly releasing libraries and presets for the synths & kontakt. Plus, if you ever play guitar or bass, you get Guitar Rig which is a huge plus.

I have Komplete (should've added that up top).

then purchase more Kontakt libraries, expansions, and presets for the synths that already come with it. The NI site has direct links to most of the 3rd party Kontakt stuff out there if you click on the 'additional sounds' link.

You should try Guitar Rig on your instrument plug ins. It makes a great fx bundle for synths, drums and keyboard sounds. For Guitars sounds I don't care for it much compared to Amplitube.

I hear great things about Omnisphere and the library is huge too. I have been playing with Alchemy lately too might be worth a look. The free version of Alchemy has a lot of great sounds in it.

If you have Komplete, then you've got some great samples and drum sounds. I have that, Omnisphere and the PT expansion pack. My vote would totally be for Omnisphere. It is incredible. I like Strike a lot, Hybrid and Structure are great too - but if you have Komplete you're all set. Omnisphere is sick. Go for that.

+1 on sticking with Komplete

+1 on if you are dead set on getting one get Omnisphere. It is versatile and absolutely amazing... And the Moog tribute library *drools*

Yeah I've done that before. Also used it on vocals. I use amplitube as well, mostly on my iPad.

Expect to begin a complete monogamous relationship with Omnisphere. There was a time period in my life where i ONLY used omni. (10+ instances per beat except drums of course)

It's a beast!

Omni is great, especially if you take the time to learn to program it. Watch the vids on spectras site, nothing else on the market does as good of a job of combining deep programming with super fast/friendly UI IMO.

Do you have K8U? That kicks ass also, personally I think digi stuff is pretty easily outclassed at this point compared to K8U + omni. Especially with KMS and OMS.
