anyone sucessfully installed DIY mv8000 vga out?

pretty straitforward, anyone done the diy vga/mouse output hack for your 8000 or 8800?

I haven't worked up the nerve to try it yet but I know it works. I did upgrde my ram and replace my F5 button.

i see, do they sell buttons for the mv on mpcstuff? have you replaced tact switches before?

You have to order them from Roland. The funny thing is they are all connected so to replace one you get one big piece full of buttons.

ah ok, thats pretty cool they are all connected, is there a few boards or do you get every button if one breaks?

also, anyone else make a vga out?

U get every button. And it is a long process unscrewing everything to take out all the components. I took a lot of pics with my phone so that I could know what gets connected to what.

Looks basic, if you know what you are doing. Not much different than wiring up a car stereo, without the luxury of a wiring harness. Basic and easy are not the same, not trying to say go for it. Understand it and decide to take the leap.


My side note. VGA cables are so easy to flush mount. The mouse may be hard but doable. I don't get why the "clean" way in posted videos isn't all that clean. Get a dremel/file/etc and make it look factory. Sorry, not hating, just saying, it's like .5 hours extra.
