M-Audio Uno- MPC 2000XL & ASR-10

Thanks you guys for helping me out with the last issue I had.

I now would like to sync my MPC 2000Xl Up To Protools 8 using a M-Audio Uno MIDI interface.. I don't have midi on my audio interface, I have a Mbox 2 Mini.

I've searched around the web to find out the proper way to sequence my mpc and my asr-10 together... and found the answer here Akai MPC Forums - Here is the RIGHT way to use an MPC and ASR together... : MPC Studio Environments

I'm a however trying to figure out how to apply those steps with the M-Audio Interface now taking over MIDI In One and MIDI out One..

Is this the best way to approach this? I'm not sure. If anyone has some insight or If anyone can point me in the right direction, I kindly thank you.

Once again. I appreciate it.

What exactly do you mean by sync? Are you trying to track your mpc into pro tools one track at a time?

By sync I mean when I press record then play in protools, The MPC starts up the drum sequence and then sample chops I have in the ASR-10 because it's midi'ed to the MPC.
I have audio running from my MPC & ASR to my Mbox 2 Mini, and I believe the MPC is the master because i'm sequencing everything in the MPC 2000XL.

I've read the instructions, that the website had, but now I think I have to modify it all because I would like to slave my MPC to ProTools to get everything to line up.

No need for midi sync in 2012 because tab to transient is your friend. Enable the countoff in play on your mpc and record each of your asr10 and mpc tracks into pro tools. Each track should have a 1 bar click countoff at the beginning. Once all your tracks are recorded, select each clip and hit the tab key . Make sure u have the grid on with the proper song tempo. I haven't Used midi in over a year because of tab to transient.

Why would they be out of time if the mpc is triggering them?

This does not work with the uno cables. You need a traditional midi cable to use the mpc-forums way of doing it. To use Uno Cables you must have a seperate one for each device and run them into your DAW separately

The MPC and ASR sync is good. I just want to track out the sequences I did in the MP and since.. I'm sampling in the asr and drumming in the MPC I wanted to record both of those in prefect time together in Protools 8.

Put a 4 bar click before each track and use "tab to transient in pro tools.

i understand what you are trying to do I used to do it with my mpc and eps combo using uno cables tracking into sonar. you need to 2 uno cables to make this happen one for each device.

If he uses tab to transient he wouldn't need any uno cables.
