Another fan of the Rescue series, especially Rescue AE.

You might also want to check out the Ferric TDS.

Great plug in this one.

A bit of Sir Elliot 31 band is good too. So glad someone here recently introduced me to it.

Absolutely yes.

Also Molot compressor and Limiter No.6 by Vladg, (limiter no.6 is more of a mastering plugin really though).

I will say that I made a considerable effort to develop a collection of free plugins. To be fair i did pretty well and many are quite impressive. Some of the ones mentioned here, the Sir Elliot 31 and others in that collection, such as Sir Elliots Altered Dynamic Compressor and the 1968a EQ are out standing. I wont do it now but if you ask ill post a comprehensive list of what i got. Some of them are very capable.. Others not. The problem is however, once your computer is loaded with these things, the load time is just ridiculous. Whilst some actually work very well indeed, they aren't tested properly. They aren't as efficient as the big name brands. Loading a project also takes forever. Projects with this type of plugin on them are slowed, inefficient and sometimes unstable. If you'd paid for them you'd be on the phone to support in a shot. I've done considerable testing and removed what seemed to be the worst offenders. But things are still slow. If you remove them completely problem solved. I guess you've gotta decide if thats how you want your system to work. There's some great free plugins out-there, but there is a downside.
