Keep in Mind that the best instruMentalists and producers don't just go with presets. They take alot of time using their tools correctly...by tweaking and tweaking. I'm pretty sure that none of them just load up a preset and go to town.
This is why it's hard to get that same sound. It's theirs.
If you're using Trilogy, then you should be good to go...play widdit.

PEace. | Illmind a is friend and a great producer. I'll say this, Illmind tweaks EVERYTHING.
If you have Trilogy or Trilian, you have what it takes to get the sound you want. Its up to you to tweak the sound out.

Was just hangin with Ill tonight. Him and Music Maestro. I know what he uses, and what I've used on his bass lines. Can't divulge.
But what I can say is that Ill has used pretty much every and anything with little to no regard as to how it was intended to be used, and has come across the things that he personally likes. Some are conventionally approaches, some are very much not. He's constantly innovating, and seldom emulating.
But Imakemadbeats is absolutely right. If you have Trilogy or any number of decent programs you can get similar and excellent bass sounds.

You could def. get that with trilogy, or some kontakt libraries (scarbee pre bass comes to mind).

Have you considered learning bass? I am really considering going that route. Its a bit harder than programming something with a plug in but once u get the hang of it I am sure it will be much easier to get a solid bassline that way than with using a keyboad. I hope anyway lol

Also +1 for learning the bass.

Good luck finding the sound you want.

Good luck finding the sound you want. | Definitely prefer the Jay Bass over the M Bass or Pre - Bass. The Jay Bass sounds very silky.
