| highquality submixer for synths Im looking for a highquality submixer for mpc and synths with at least 8 channels so i dont have to switch cables all the time and be able to monitor them all at once. Im looking for something a step higher then lets say a mackie cause im afraid it will degrade my soundquality. Im using avalon 2 U5 di's before going into protools and i also monitor through protools, so i think the mixer main outs will be connected to my DI's. Do you guys have any suggestions? thnx for the help |

Far superior than any line mixer. If you insist on a mixer then I find the Mackie LM3204 is great value, around $300 s/h. If you want high quality then various options- Manely, Chandler and such. They are $6k+ Why are you planning on connecting a mixer to your DI's? This is pointless and will f**k up your gain staging. I use a combination of both- the synths are normalled in a TT patchbay to the mixer inputs so I can not only route them directly to Protools, I can also use the mixers analog EQ or connect them via the line inputs of any of the channel strips, compressors and other outboard by simply patching a few cables. Definitely the way to go, but requires a bit of research and patience to get it all working. JR | |
