Question to all you pro tools heads out here..

I've been using Maschine in midi mode to record all my drums into Pro Tools for the past few weeks and I've realized that it's way too much of a pain in the ass to route every time I want to record a kick or snare or hat, etc. (Not to mention all the additional tracks I need to route for 'sends' when I wanna use AIR instrument effects or something)

Come to the conclusion that I'm just gna use it for chopping (which it's great at)...

But I'm wondering which plugin u guys load ur .wav files in to record ur drums? Right now I'm trying out Kontakt. Anyone know of a better one with more features or plusses?

Drag and drop works great for everything but bass drums...

Why is it a problem only on bass drums?

The way the regions line up, it causes a click going from region to region...my work around is just to drag and drop my initial scenes...do my arrangement and then make a single kick scene that is the length of the track and drag and drop that...

Wouldn't a Command-F (fade) while selecting all the kick regions aleviate this?

sometimes yes and sometimes it will catch the attack of the first kick in the region...

command+f to create a fade at the start and end.
make sure it's only 2ms tho... that definitely will not affect the initial attack of the kick.

I have Kontakt but never use it for drums.
You could try Battery... but it'd be the same as Maschine.
You'd still have to route them into PT exactly like Maschine, except with Maschine, you can drag&drop.

Why are you creating something in Maschine, then putting it into MPC?

Very curious this is.
