Monitoring on Korg KP3 without sampling

I'm a long time reader first time poster with hopes of some help. I recently bought a Korg KP3 as a way of beefing up my samples in realtime. Here is my setup:

1. I record my samples into protools
2. I bus my outputs from specified tracks into my KP3 line in
3. I send the output of the kp3 into a different track in my protools session

My problem is I can't seem to monitor my samples without actually sampling them. I was hoping to just run a loop through my kp3 back into protools without sampling a thing. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've been all over google trying to find a solution to this problem. I'm starting to give up. I see El P has done what I'm hoping to accomplish in a Korg promotional video he created. If you check out the link and fast forward to 4:35, you will be able to see what it is that I'm trying to do.

I appreciate any help you have to offer. Thanks everyone!

I bought the kp3 due to that very same video lol. I am also having the very same problem. Hopefully you get some legit answers. Nobody responded when I inquired about it. Good luck! Ps Def Jux is the best

Yea I'm pulling my hair out over here. I downloaded the new OS and went through the updated manual and still no luck with tackling the issue. Is it possible that I have to just trigger such samples via MIDI and rerecord them that way? That seems overly complicated considering the simplicity of the objective. And yea Def Jux forever Rhymesayers for life.

If you wanna hit me up sometime, we can both hook up the kp3's and try a to get them to work.. If your down then just shoot me a PM and I'll send you my number. Maybe together we can get that figured out. If El-P can do it on a Cage track then it's gotta be possible.. Also, if you figure it out let me know...

hmmm
i think what you need to do is actually touch the pad. otherwise, sound wont go through.
also check the back switch which says "connection" direct/send. it should be "direct" and then your mix level to full clockwise so that its ONLY wet sound.

hope this helps.

So I tried everything again and it worked!! I guess I had to actually record the audio to get a signal for some dumb reason. Maybe it's a ProTools Preference but regardless. I didn't by the gear for nothing. Thanks for the input!!
