| Built a new room and booth, now have questions
Hey there guys,
I don't want to come across too noobish, but this is my first time dealing with this issue.
So I built a new mix room and vocal booth, and I'll be moving my gear down there and setting up.
Now I have a kinda old Behringer XENYX 1204 and I decided I want to make the most use of it while I have it, I mean, might as well?
So my question is this: This board only has these outputs: Main L+R (XLR)
Alt 3-4 (1/4') and Control Room Out L+R (1/4').
I have a Presonus Audio Box USB which I think is completely useless in conjunction with the mixer. It doesn't except line inputs. Now if I were to buy an interface that does accept line inputs, how would I connect the two? The mixer only has stereo outs and sometimes I would only want to record one mono track. Would I use a Y cable, say (2 XLR to 1 TRS) to go from the Main Outs to my interface's linein, and mute all the other tracks I didn't want? Would that still give me a mono track recording?
I've just been used to boards having direct outs and I'm not that experienced with this kind of manufacturing so I just wanted to ask for some advice.
Thanks!
