Does Pro Tools 10 require a Mbox?

I just bought Pro Tools 10. I have a Presonus Fire Studio mobile interface. Do I need a Mbox? Sorry for the beginner forum type question, I'll delete this thread after I get an answer. Maybe you can throw in if I don't need it, if it would be worth it to buying a Mbox or is it just the same as the interface I have already?

No.

Pro tools has NEVER "required" an Mbox specifically, but you have needed an Avid interface in the past (pre v8 - this includes the 002 and 003 variations).

Anyway, by reading the manuals that came with your PT10 and installing it, you should have been able to answer your own questions.

You don't tell a "Marine" to read manuals. This type of shit can get you shot in the real world.

No, all you need is one audio interface. The box, is an audio interface and your presonus is also an audio interface. You can only use one audio interface, unless you have 2 identical ones that can be daisy chained so the clocking is exactly the same.

No. You do not need an mbox. What you have is fine.

Also be careful when buying gear. Read the manufacture requirments for both hardware & software compatability.

Each DAW program has issues with something; interface, cpu, processor chip, ram, audio drivers, usb/firewire ect......

It gets messy sometimes if you dont follow the manufacture suggestions.

For technical spot on answers email sweetwater.com, they give clear cut answers on technical specs like that.
