Hip Hop Vocal Booth

I'm going to buy a vocal booth (from vocalbooth.com) and was wondering what the options I need?

I know I want a 4X6 probably Gold Series but want to know if I should get it foamed up or what? I saw the booth they used in the making the band 2 and the booth was carpeted with small (1x2?) peaces of foam hung on the walls (something like the picture). What do you guys recommend?

you can ask the reps what they recommend. You'll most likey need some type of treatment on the inside if it ships with bare walls. What makes the vocal booth a Hip-Hop vocal booth?

I don't know, I guess how dry you want it??? Or maybe a better way to say it is why are there different treatments for vocal booths? Which one works better for hip hop?

It all depends on the particular booth. You'll probably need to tweak the treatment once you get the booth to suit your needs & get the "ideal" vocal sound.

You could build one yourself for less... Where are you going to be putting this and how good are you with a hammer?

Anyway, only use foam sparingly.

I may on occasion talk about some of the products I am a dealer for in my posts.. and that's OK! I sell them because I like them. Not vice versa. It's more fun to talk about things you know and love, then things you don't.

I probably won't want to build it, but what would I do? At first I was thinking I would get press board and mount sound boards to them. then carpet it up and add foam and broadband obsorbtion. Plus a window made out of plexi glass.

my only issue is light and ventilation?

Well, I definitely would NOT put carpet all over it. Carpet sounds like ass.

Use the foam sparingly & putting down hardwood floors would be good-just like in their most expensive booth (on vocalbooth.com).
I'm sure you can find a friend or two that are somewhat good with tools. Be sure to get some help with the project.

Why?

Paint or stained wood is much nicer!
