Colorado Springs is the next Seattle for Hip Hop (UDATED)

Congrats to The Procussions, Deux Process, and my artist Black Pegasus.

These guys are coming up, I'm glad to just be a part of the birth. It's funny that so much hip hop is coming out of a city that's run by Focus on the Family......

Koch actually pushed it back to release it on that date, from May......

I guess it's some kind of marketing thing for them. Like I said the name of the Album is Tripple Impact.

I produced it, made the music, mixed it, mastered it, and did the album artwork. My man MVP wrote all of the lyrics.

(Edit)

Man, I'm slippin, check out that Distrakt album too, I think that comes out this week on Fatbeats. That's my man Omar on it, Tone did the mastering on that one, another GS here.

We're just hiding in the mist out here............

Thanks for hijacking my positive thread and turning it into garbage. I was just letting some people know about something that I'm doing, as someone who's worked for 20 years for just about no credit, just at least read what I've wrote and recognize what some of out here in the CO are doing.

I read about what other producers accomplishments are here, and maybe I'm not on that level, for my city to have a movement like we are building, I just wanted to put that out there.

Peace,

What I was trying to say, not successfully, is that we are going to do for hip hop what Seattle did for rock. Sorry for not being clear on that!

Many people probably might not think that Seattle rock was a good thing, especially hair bands, but hopefully these wack over-commercialized bubble gum rappers will have the same thing to say. We'll see.....

I really thought a few years ago that Kansas City was going to blow up, that hasn't happened, but my I-70 theory is coming to pass with D-Town as the next stop.

Can you recomend some tracks to check out from these acts? To be honest, I'm not famliar with any of them. Does this region has a defined 'sound' of it own?

Nice to see Procussions getting some love. They were regular visitors here a few years ago when they were still in school. Their message has always been positive, no bullshit pose. They're great guys who've been working hard for years at their craft, they deserve the buzz they're getting.

A sound of our own? Well the Procussions and Deux Process has a similar sound, Black Pegasus has a more commercial sound than them, but it's overall still evolving. We have so many people from California in Colorado that west coast definately has a big influence on what people bump out here.

I know Black Pegasus "Knuckle Up" in on I-Tunes. He's the "Black Mexican", so it's Afro Mexican music. There ya go.
