Mix while ill

Im sitting here having the badest ass virus in a long time...

So Im thinking do you guys mix while being ill?

And I especially ask the full time pros, how do you go about that kind of situation? i mean where all self employed so we need to keep working basicly but what do you do if you feel like your hearing is off?

You know when you reaally knocked out?

Just a question... and yeah I just post it in here because this is my part of the forum... kinda...

Gesundheit!

Been there... too much...

What I try to do is get the 85% of "grunt work" out of the way, and then come back and do the final mix when I'm not sick.

I can perform low cuts, edits, fades, breath edits, basically anything that is kind of brainless, 100% effectively when sick. Making great mix decisions? Not so much....

Either - What Freematik was saying / resting so I can get back to the music sooner / a mixture of both.

While it's good to get everything done and continue working, it's also good to rest so you can be back to 100% sooner, rather then __% for longer.

Depending on your illness, your ears/hearing can be effected, especially with severe colds and flu.

What you need to do is get some of my mom's chicken soup! Uh Huh!!

Hi danny - I posted about this a while back. I had a really bad cold and everything sounded compressed in my ears among the other usual blocking. Mike Dean suggested using a reference with ear plugs.

Then going at it. Just familiarising yourself. I tried this and it helped but wasn't perfect. In the end i just rested up with some olbas. Pobably because im not Mike Dean
