Thread Starter | vocal booth, want to get more transients
Hey guys, didn't know where to post this (there is no acoustics forum on here) but here goes. I have my vocal room and its is sounds good for certain types of songs. But I'm starting to hear that the room is kinda "slow" if that makes sense. Like the transients aren't as fast and tight as I want for some vocals. I'm wondering if putting some portable hard surfaces in there when I want a faster sounds will help, or if it'll just create to many reflections?? (im sort of thinking of the effect of rapping with your face right towards a wall) I came across Clearsonic.com and they manufacture acrylic panels for modular vocal booth type stuff. What do you think, will some hard surfaces make my room a little brighter and tighter sounding? thanks for any advice. |

well, thing is i like the way it sounds for mellower stuff. Best case for me would be to be able to balance the room depending on what i'm recording. thats why i was thinking of jst adding some movable hard surfaces. nobody doing anything like this?? |

you can always tame the transients with a compressor...but trying to induce them will sound crap pick ur poison

![]() i read a SoS article about recording, and it mentioned placing a piece of hardwood on the floor to catch nice reflections from guitars. you might want to try something similar. | |
