I'd be hesitant unless I was familiar with the vocalist. I'd put as many wind screens as I could physically fit in there otherwise...

It should be a written rule somewhere that ribbons and rappers don't mix well... similar to the way you wouldn't mix different household cleaners. tutt

Why is that? Don't ribbon mics combat the proximity effect?

nope, on the contrary i believe.


Plus rappers are usually pushing a lot of air at the mic, popping and everything...that equals death for ribbons. Although they are a lot tougher than people make them out to be.
