but for me personally... having all those options paralizes my creativity.

i need like one or two instruments with like a small bunch of presets i'm comfortable with.

for me there's too much shit in komplete's stuff.
there's menu in menu in menu with options to tweak even the most futile settings.

i will look into massive, if i like it, stick with it for a while and see where the good presets are at.

btw... idk if it's hardware or software... i don't hear the difference anyway.

If thats the case... why did you invest your money in Komplete? from the box it comes in to all of the advertising ..Native Instruments tells you that Komplete is packed with thousands of patches and presets.. I don't know if you bought it used or new but..but personally, before i invest $500 or more into anything, I research it... if i was a minimalist, than I'm staying as far away from Komplete as i possibly can.. so it seems like you didn't research Komplete before you invested..

try deleting/moving the presets/vsts to another folder as you find stuff you don't like. Slowly over time (and using the organization systems in kontakt+massive etc) you should have a much stronger selection of sounds you like overall because you're constantly dumping stuff you don't like.

Check out stuff like massive and reaktor user patches to get some good ideas for patch design.

ni komplete...

there's so many instruments inthere.
there's so much shit to tweak.
there's so much @#%R$@# presets to browse.
shit makes my system instable.

eversince i switched a year ago i can't get even a simple beat done.

i'm constantly browsing presets tweaking shit comparing presets tweaking windows to get it 2#@#$ work longer than an hour.
rebooting to get my firewire shhhh to recognize my audio interface.

damn i wished i never switched lol
i need to get rid of all this crap and buy me a simple hardware module.
turn it on and start laying down shit.
All I can help you with is
a. Try an rme babyface if you need stability, I've never had to restart, FireWire on a non-Texas instrument board is horribly unreliable
b. Depending on your spec you might want to upgrade your computer. What's your CPU mete reading in your daw?

When you hear something good, stick with it. Don't keep searching through menus. And this is why I've only scratched the surface of my Komplete library, lol.
