E. Dan (the producer)

He has produced a few songs for Wiz Khalifa. I'm feelin his beats so I'm trying to do a little research on him, but I can't find his discography anywhere on the web. Anybody has a list of what songs he has produced? I'm trying to check him out some more.

Yeah, he needs to get a big congrats from the GS crew on the Mac Miller joints. He produced at least 3 or 4 joints on his album that were dope.

Dude definitley has lots of talent and puts in work.

Yeah, that reminds me of some tribe called quest ish. I want that bass patch. lol.
I'm thinking it's from the triton, which I don't have.
Whole track is dope.

I'm thinking I read somewhere he works for/with rostrum records. Which is, in pittsburgh, where he's from, and Mac miller and wiz khalifas label.

Wow.
Just looked up blue slide park on wiki. Id labs produced and/or co-produced 10 tracks on that album.

My bad it's "they". ID labs is E Dan and Jeremy Kolousek.

Def been busy. Always a great thing to be in this biz.
I really haven't used the MPC for anything more than a controller for a couple of years, but yea I've recently copped Maschine and I'm loving it. It's really bridging the gap for me between my hardware days and the last few years of mostly using software.

That bass patch was from the G-Force Minimonsta plug I think. The main sound was an Omnisphere patch I tweaked.
Dont know if anybody peeped the remix we just put out with Raekwon and Posdnus but that was one of those 'damn, I can't believe I got these dudes rapping on my beat' moments.

Yeah, thats crazy! I'll have to check that remix.
Thanks for the insight.
I'm sure your busy since Wiz's mixtape dropped recently and I'm sure y'all are working on his new album too.

Continued success to y'all. You definitely put in work and have a unique style and sound.

Damn he definitely switches stuff on Macadelic. I am listening to it right now. Spacey beats, well mixed vox and harmonies especially on "The Question". Could you please describe the process and Is that a real bass guitar on "The Question"?

Yeah, that's live bass on the question. A dude named Wally West made that track and I added bass, guitar, the 808 and changed some of the drum sounds. The original beat was cool, it just didn't knock enough.

The intro keys and some of the interludes all came out of a late night session at Paramount in LA. Ritz Reynolds did those. He uses logic but I have no idea where he got those sounds. He does amazing stuff that guy.

Hey idlabs, how do u usually track guitars? And do you layer and pan them to give them some depth and or width?
I've played guitar for about 17 years and usually DI into guitar rig but I'm finding I usually have to process guitar quite a bit to get it to fit in a mix and sound good all around.
Most definitely not trying to cop your style, but any insight into good pre/s, plugins, chains or somewhat of a mixing technique, coming from a fellow guitarists perspective, would be greatly appreciated.

I was wondering the same. Are you plugging your guitar directly into your interface? Is a DI box needed between guitar and interface? How much of an upgrade in sound quality would an external preamp do for a guitar going into amp sims?
