Thread Starter | Fruity loops export to mix in Pro Tools?
Using fruity loops I just exported a split mixer track wav file of a beat I want to mix in Pro Tools, when imported in Pro Tools 9 all tracks are stereo (panned hard left and hard right), but in fruity loops all tracks were left in the middle (Stereo seperation knob) which is not seperated, and if knob was moved to the left it would be considered + stereo seperation and if moved to the right it would merge the stereo spectrum instead, but I can't pan it in pro tools 9 any more then it already is (hard left & right) so my question is does panned in pro tools mean the same as leaving it in the middle using mixer in fruity loops? If so what would you do in pro tools to get the same stereo seperation result from fruity loops mixing stereo knob? I thought if i left knob in the middle in Fl studio it would stay in the middle in Pro Tools. The question seems weird but if you've worked with fruity loops and p tools you'll probably understand. |

You can just use FL Studio in Rewire mode with PT and record all the stuff in separate channels and then mix it |

Although I generally don't know what DAW was used to record records I mix, I'm pretty sure that whenever I have actually KNOWN that FL was used for the beat I have gotten stereo files for everytrack. If it was mono I get the same on the left and right. It's not that big of a deal because if I need to pan it somewhere else, I just use a dual panner (separate pan for "left" and "right" channels of the track). It's really only a problem in two ways. 1) super high track counts. Becuase stereo is litterally double the data, if I'm mixing something with 100 tracks and 40 of the are unnecessarily stereo, then my hard drive and RAM are working a lot harder. I get a delay when I locate to another spot in teh song as data is pulled off the hard drive. It slows me down. Although it hasn't happened yet, at a certain point the computer just wouldn't keep up. 2) outboard gear. I'm sure everyone has done it. A stereo track you neglected to remember was stereo and put an insert on it to an outboard mono compressor you patched it. And then it just sound crazy. In either of those situations, I just bounce the stereo track to mono. Problem solved.
