My Chorus Drop Has No "Impact"

My fellow slutz, I need help, this is actually one of the few times I am reaching out to you guys.

Heres my situation on this beat I'm working on.

For one, I really like it, but I cannot get a nice "Impact" for when the chorus comes in.

please give it a listen and point me in the right direction to make this sound right, what do I need to turn down/up?? what is missing?

I did use the rax on rax acapella over the beat so you can hear what I am talking about.

This is not a check beat thread, I really need assistance here!!! Im not asking you guys if my beat is hot or not.

EDIT : Sorry, I see the official check my mix thread, I am trying to delete this post, but I don't see a delete button.

Checking this out on my MacBook Pro. There is a total lack of punch and energy in the low end of the track. Yea laptop speakers aren't the best reproducers of low end, but the ones in the MacBook Pro are decent, and I should still be able to discern whatever is going on down there. Things sound too faint at the moment. Other than that things sound compressed in a way that I'm not really feeling. The beat itself sounds on point so far for what it is, you just need to work out these issues to make it all sound better. It's not just the chorus drop that is lacking "Impact".

Contrast. In order for a chorus to sound big, the stuff that precedes it must be small. I'm 6'5" but if I stand next to an NBA player I look short. So the chorus is only big relative to what was before it - so make what's before it smaller.

For example, let everything play up to beat 3 before the chorus comes in. Maybe you just let reverb and delay tails continue. And let that snare play before the chorus hits. So the second half of that measure is just verb/delay tails and then the snare fill. Then BAMB the chorus comes in. The smaller you can make it, the bigger the chorus will feel. Of course, you have to make sure you don't lose the groove in the process. So sometimes it takes a little experimenting.

Too much high end throughout the whole joint. Needs more balance.

The bass line just comes through, but it does lack punch. I would adjust the attack of the instrument you used for the bassline. The bass will have more presence once you work on the balance.

The chorus lacks impact because of the balance issue, as well. Unfortunately, it's buried so deep, I can't tell if it might be the recording of the vox that needs to be fixed.

Same thing for the verse...the vox lack presence.

Peace.
