Speaking of the 950, personally I use it mostly as a lofi box for resampling/filtering, that type of stuff... I personally have an output from my DAW connected to the line input and the "mix" out is connected to my mixer, then to my DAW... I personally find the 950 pretty cool but a bit noisy, honestly I did not mess with the other outputs... Do your guys hear noise comming from your 950? did you compare the mix output vs the others? |

Ok thanks, it might be the way I route the audio from my daw into an old hifi amp and use the tape rec ouput to feed the 950... because it sounds like the noise is coming from the sample... I have to chek into my connections. |

I've had some less desirable noise from some of the 950's I have had. Might be interesting to compare output from different units. I realise they are digital samplers, but there may well be some variation in the sound of gear that has been used and abused for 20 years no? I picked one up this week for low double digits, sold untested without the power cable. Fortunately I keep a stash of spare cables. It's not very pretty, but it's fully working, very quiet disk drive, and one working memory upgrade inside. Boom.

yea ive had different 950s and 900s that sound pretty different. some have been too noisey (signal noise only on playback), but not enough to really know something was wrong. Ive always just thought the wierd ones i have seen had voice chip problems. anyway i have nice clean ones nowdays.

do you have noise coming from the internal sine wave tone? if not then it must be coming from how youre sampling... |
