Dreamy, minor key rap?

Are there such artists?

I've been looking for rap / hip hop music that would not be particularily urban or "cool", clubby or anything like that in any way. Rather dreamy, minor key, poetic, even new agy. But not r'n'b or soul either, or jazz..

It would be even better if it was synth driven, electronic with original melodies rather than samples.

Am I looking for something that doesn't exist?

Just finished up a project with an artist sort of similar to what you're describing. Check out the Universal Lve Period link below.

Look up "Clams Casino" on youtube. He has a ton of instrumentals like that.

Thanks. Good stuff, but none of them were close to what I was looking for. That Supah Mario had some nice stuff tho.

Here's a few tunes by Huge L from Finland that I just found which are a bit closer to what I'm after, but I think even these are somewhat "urban" and dark, dark not being a bad thing necessarily. I'm looking for something that would be even more on the dream side. Especially the vocals.

Not sure what you mean by dreamy, but I think most of Dre's beats the last 10+ years or so have been based minor chords/scales.

What I mean by dreamy is how Yanni, Vangelis, Enya, Kitaro or Tangerine Dream produced rap album would sound like, but since they don't exist (atleast not that I know of), I'm ok with the second best . Softie, new agey.. what you want to call it, zero in the "cool factor". I'm exaggarating a bit here, but just to get the point thru. I know there is a "nerdcore" genre, but that's different, that's kind of tongue in cheek stuff which I'm not looking for either.

Minor key is a very broad rule I know and it's not actually that important, it could be major too.

Drake?
The Weakend?
Kid Cudi?

Sounds like minor keys, dreamy vocals from reverb and delay, lyric subject matter downbeat.
