Thickening Rap Vocals

What are some tricks you guys are using to thicken lead vocal tracks? I'm trying to get better at processing and mixing rap vocals.

I have a track with multiple good takes of each verse, so doubling is an option, but as far as which effects or how to mix multiple tracks of takes, I always feel like there's something off.

If you have suggestions for effects, I'd also be interested in which plugins you find the most useful for vocal treatments.

Any pointers are appreciated!

Use saturation, double the lead vocal, and compression. The main thing is your Mic though. Your signal processing is the main key to thick vocals.
