Digital scratching, sans computer?

This probably a really poorly formatted and uninformed question:

I want to add a little basic scratching to my music, more accurately I want to scratch elements of my own track. Doing it on vinyl is not an option for me.

I did some basic searching and came across a bunch of cool stuff, looked like controllers that were integrated with computers. Currently I don't use computers as part of my process (use em all day for the day job) and I would like it to remain that way.

Is there such thing as a 'digital turntable' that I could send in some audio and scratch/cut it, that does not require a computer?

I messed around with a 1200 (many years ago) off and on for a year or so, and it was a blast. So I sort of know what i'm getting into regarding style and very basic skill.

I make music like this, if it helps: (notice the lack of funky laid back scratching)

2 - afteryou - Polyoptics: afteryou - Teenage Engineering Op-1 - YouTube
3 - viewport - Polyoptics: viewport - Teenage Engineering Op-1 - YouTube
4 - clouds - Polyoptics: clouds - Teenage Engineering Op-1 - YouTube

Thanks much,
-poly

You mean the op1? Yes I like it a lot. Quirky, but it fits for me really well.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on this as far as my orig post? I am pretty ignorant on the subject, so any advice or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

Numark CDX if you can find one - they're cheap these days.

some of the newer CDJ turntables have USB ports to use flash drives, but are more costly.

I see, I guess I was incorrectly assuming that the CDJ type devices required a computer. Lots of research to do....!

Thanks!

Yeah, CDJ is the very simple way to go. No computer needed, some have computer functionality but you don't need a computer for the ones I have been around. I plan to get one soon as well, not that I don't use a computer, I don't want that to be part of any DJing/scratching I do (at home, not a professional DJ by any means lol).

Yep, I've been looking at the denon3700 a lot.

Through searching it seems to get compared to the pioneer800-1000 series, but I know pioneer is up to the 2000 now. I wonder if pioneer has made any significant improvements, (useful to scratching) to the platter on the newer models.

It's hard to find good current debate on this topic, is it because the anwer was decide in 2009 or whuzzup?

Any user experiences to share comparing the denon and the pioneer or numark stuff?

I just want to scratch my own material, not do any DJing.

Thanks for the comments so far,
