Correct me if I am wrong - but I don't think this has software. It's an Analog synth.

Nop, for using the keyboard as a controller also. I remember somewhere in one of these videos he was playing drums. He mentioned there is no presets and no saving presets - his way of "recalling" his sounds was to take a pic with his iPhone and move them later.

Yup - there is always a price to pay - whether X amount of dollars or X amount of features you wish it had. I would be cool with no presets just as long as the thing sounds good. No presets forced you to learn everything about the machine and form your own "sound" if you will...

It's just keeps costs downs and no digital components etc. This is a really cheap analogue for what it does. Anyone who has played with a analogue synth knows..presets are a bonus! inspire..but the magic is in shaping your own sound.

This looks like it good be a great first analogue synth in my opinion.

Bless

Thats how ppl used to save patches back on the old analog synths, except you used a polariod instead of an iphone usually, lol.

It doesn't suck that this doesn't have patch memory, imo, I think its great. Some ppl don't want to pay extra for features they don't need.

Plus, you might be surprised how it easy it is to shape a sound when you don't have to dig through menu's, and just have to turn a few knobs right at your fingers.

The other benefit of not saving patches is every song you make has a new unique sound. And if you really come up with a great sound that you have to save, you can just copy the settings wit the sheets they give you or take a picture.

And from most of the demo's I've seen, you wouldn't want the presets they give you anyways, lol, as they seem to be marketing it to techno/industrial type producers. But I've heard a few snippets on their website of the classic analog, moog type of sounds, so it IS capable of those sounds, but you probably need to create them yourself anyays.

btw, for anyone looking for pure audio demo's, without all the extra crap they through in the video's like background noise, lame drums, etc, go to their website and they have a bunch of different audio demo's.

Arturia - Musical Instruments | Intro

The player is on the left side.

Oh I understand completely. I have never been an analog synth user - but I have heard about the "magic" and I am all kinds of down to find out what they are all about - but price has kept me away.

When I saw analog synth and $500 I was down to find out more about it. Idc about presets - its always cool for more shit - but keeping the price down is more of a benifit for me anyway.

Yes these are what I was talking about! I just checked the website. Just wanted to make sure it was capable of these sounds. This thing is gonna be a beast
