Yeah he asked some great questions.

The New MPC offerings are definitely interesting looking to say the least. I had been thinking about Maschine for the better part of Six months now, But I'm just too attached to my MPC2500 because of JJOSXL. But Maschine like features in MPC land? Well that's something that is VERY appealing to me. Kinda sucks that you MUST use it with a Computer tho.. NO stand alone. I originally thought that the Renaissance was capable of working in both stand alone and SW modes, while the MPC Studio would be only SW based. I guess not. That's certainly one big plus that NI Maschine has over either of these two new Akai MPC offerings, but I digress.
Introducing the next generation of Akai Pro MPC - The Akai MPC Renaissance
Introducing the next Generation of Akai Pro MPC - The Akai MPC Studio

I wasn't all that impressed with the Nektar Panorama P4 tho.. It looked cool at first, and my hopes where high, but they touched on some pretty big drawbacks in the vid that I completely agree with. All in all, I bet it will take a while for Nektar to nail that Idea down correctly with either a couple of revisions, or SW/FW updates. And thats if the current Nektar HW can even support some of the ideas they were mentioning in the vid. ANd the keys being toyish.. big no no for me. I LOVE the feel of my MPK, so anything less.. Ut uh.
Panorama USB Controller

Which brings me to the new Akai Max 49 controller which also looks pretty cool. If the keys are better feeling and expand on the feel of the MPK, I'll be in HEAVEN. Not to mention the Pads look WAY better. I dont even care that they light up. Just the sensitivity alone has me all like .
And I really like the step sequencing options they built in. It looks like tons of fun. But I wonder.. In the vid they mention you can switch between step seq mode and Midi.. so can you adjust Vol, Pan, mutes/solos etc on the Max 49, like the MPK's Knobs/Faders/Buttons/Banks allow you to do now??? Cause I have gotten quite attached to using my MPK to have hands on control of my Cubase mixer via a Generic Remote I customized. Being able to do BOTH that, AND adding the step Seq, and ribbon controllers? I would definitely get the Max 49 over my MPK49. (After reading into the Max49 a bit further, it appears that YES you can do the same, and more as the MPK series where the faders/knobs/buttons are concerned. And its 4 Banks now rather than 3. Although it doesn't have knobs, in the description on Akai's site under "Control to the Max" in the Overview section, the mention Knobs, despite this thing having a single KNOB. So I wonder if the touch sensitive fader strips allow you to switch between controls.. like Volume, then Pans, etc. Since there are fader strips AND buttons, it seems the Knobs are all thats missing. But then, the pads are assignable now too it seems.
MAX49 USB/MIDI/CV KEYBOARD CONTROLLER

but ANYWAY
This also has me extremely interested... I already love UAD stuff, but this thing looks very promising. And all in one Interface with built in DSP(And we're talking UAD DSP here) with 2ms latency while being able to use plugs on the way in? Sold. lol. Not to mention you can expand it to support the new thunderbolt Technology. Its times like these I wish there was a DROOLING smiley.

Agree those slate monitors look nuts! I mean they have modes for Club and hi-fi settings..NUTS!

One point is that the beat kangz product which i have thought was a joke for a long time..i can really tell that the guys are stepping it up big time! in terms of the way he handled that interview etc...I am still not sure about the product but i have gained a lot of respect for the way they are clearly taking on feedback...Good luck to them.

Triplexbeats you make some good points.

The Beatthing steps up their game.
Price is back to $999.....cool.

I would like to have something that I could put in a car, plain or whatever travailing that I need to do, and have a decent independent
recording and musicale creating device to work on projects.
Then you could take home or to your studio and patch in, and complete your music-tracks-song project.

Also, you may not want everyone coming into your home studio so this makes it that you bring your Beatthing to them,
mic it up, do your thing, go back to your studio and patch it in and finish it up.
For me this may be the way to go?

PopularDemand & KT1

Those Slate Monitors does look good, but I think it's displayed with their new board. lot's of $$$$ for me now.

the mini brute looks amazing, any idea how much they are?

the dsp crossover on the slate monitors sounds cool but I can't believe that the cross over modes thing will be that impressive or useful.

Did you see the links for the UAD that I left Reg?
Check em out. That thing is DOPE!
It is at the top of my gear list right next to the Arturia, A bunch of Plug ins, and maybe even that MAX49. Hell I might even have to grab that MPC Studio as cheap as it is!

All based off of a few days worth of forum reading and these videos so far -

MPC Studio looks spectacular. I thought it was ehh looking from pictures - but I really think the software is going to make that thing a beast.

MPC Fly looks sick for someone who has either the MPC R or MPC Studio - start a beat while your waiting for class to start - finish it when you get home on the big boys - NICE!

MPC R - I want one... seriously... lol Never had an MPC before, so I don't have all the other issues other people care about - this thing looks amazing.

MAX 49 - Why isn't this called the MPK 2.0? It seriously isn't amazing enough to give it a new name. Pads look WAY nicer though. Touch faders... to some it looks cool... to me sounds like a hastle and problems down the road.

Never used the Beat Thang to begin with so I didn't get much out of that video - still looks kinda cool - but for $999 I would shoot for the MPC R any day.

Mini Brute - I seriously think I am getting one. That's all that needs to be said.

The Vox FX pedal - Ehh... I guess that's not a product really aimed at me - but who did she think she was fooling singing over every second that the vocals were suppose to be cut? It did a good job cutting them - I'm not hating on it - but really though - I could still hear Adele...

Nord Drums - Looked cool enough - but not a replacement for eDrums - just an "addition to" product. That dude was made prepared to show them off though - bug props to him for a great display of his product.

So far, I think I am holding my breath more than normal.

All the "mpc" related products look appealing but I am not sure they are for me. I would have to get a hands on experience with any before I took interest.

Thus far, I would consider the following...

Akai Max 49. It's hard for me to get excited over a midi controller and this doesn't get me too excited. But, I do like the the touch faders, CV/Gate (not that I have use for them now), and general design. Pads look good. I wouldn't buy this until my Axiom was done. I thought it was having some issues but a hard reset fixed some problems. I still need to replace the USB port (works but got bent in). If I screw that up or my Axiom breaks, I would be looking at this seriously.

MPC Fly- I am not actually all that interested in this as I don't own an ipad, or even a smart phone for that mater lol. Honestly, an ipad is just becoming more appealing to me as I hate having to drag around my big ass, old ass laptop around. If I had an ipad 2, this would be something I could see myself buying without much thought, either to do serious work if it is capable, or just for fun, messing around without piling up my portable setup into the trunk to make something when I am bored and away from home. Having a new gen "mpc" makes it more of a no brainer, if you already own an ipad.

Arturia Minibrite-It probably isn't exactly what I would want from an analog synth honestly. But, the price looks pretty damn good and it seems to be flexible. I would have to play around, I am interested but not saving my pennies.

Universal Audio Apollo-This actually looks very nice. I can't justify the potential price tag quite yet however. Plus I need to upgrade from PT 8 before I think about it.

I think this actually is going to be an excellent year for gear, even though I am not particularly excited about anything specific. I enjoy how companies are moving on from "legacy" designs and just rehashing a new version of the last thing they made. I just am not so excited to jump quite yet.

Man... Akai is putting out some really dope looking ish... that Max 49 looks really nice. I wanna try out the pad sensitivity; all I can say is that it looks MUCH better than the MPK 49 pads. Curious about how the keys feel also... they're already pretty perfect on the MPK IMHO. New MPC stuff looks dope too.

Yo, how do you like the Axiom keys?? I was going to pick up a little 25 just for playing out my basslines and for portability. I also like the aftertouch. I don't play a lot of leads and heavy key work...

But, I have a 61es that I really have no use for and I'd rather save space.. But I was debating over the Axiom and the Oxygen....

They are fine. They are a big step up from my keystation 49 I had like 5-6 years ago which are probably about the same as what you have. I would say they are great for a "regular" controller but far from a really nice, hammer action board. They arn't bad, they just are not exceptional. I think it would be quite a big leap from what you are using now though.

The Axiom kind of sucks for portability though, just because it's so thick. I have a tape measure right here and it is about 2 3/4 in tall, not including the pitch bend. That is about 3.5 inches, a bit less.

That's actually my main gripe with my Axiom and an appealing part of the new Akai series. It looks super low profile.

So yeah, the keys will be a big upgrade but it will be almost 2x as thick as some of the newer, portable keyboards with the same or more features (with shitty keys).

Yea, it is thick as hell... I'm probably gonna go for the MPK mini TBH. I just really wanted the aftertouch of the Axiom.

Yeah, the keys won't compare (but you are used to similar anyway) and it is much more portable size wise. It has a better layout than the smaller Axoms as well. I would have picked the same (and probably will if I upgrade from my MPK LPK 25) which really sucks. Good choice for portable.

In 2011, Slate Digital released the Virtual Console Collection, a DSP plugin that authentically recreates the sound of five legendary vintage analog consoles. Using this plugin, audio engineers can finally have the warm, fat, and rich sound of a classic mixing desk in their DAW. However, as much as the Virtual Console Collection can recreate the sound of a vintage desk, it cannot recreate the workflow or tactile control that a physical desk provides.

Enter the Slate Pro Audio RAVEN X1 Production Console

The RAVEN X1 Production Console is made for the new age of audio production, with innovative features that meet the needs of the modern audio engineer in the modern DAW-based recording studio. Whether it’s tracking, overdubbing, composing, mixing, or mastering a 5.1 DVD, the Raven X1 is equally capable in all aspects of production.

Features

At the heart of the Raven X1, we put the three most important elements of the modern DAW studio: The Display, the Mouse, and the Keyboard. But this is just the beginning. The center console of the RAVEN X1 provides every necessity for the modern studio, such as a full-featured analog monitoring controller, three 6-channel dedicated artist cue sends, 8 stereo sources including an iPod dock right on the desk, 5 speaker outputs, talkback with multiple sources, engineer's headphone section with multiple sources, 4 VU meters, 2 LED meter pairs, USB ports for portable drives and memory sticks, 5.1 surround monitoring, built in “Betty” laptop-style monitors, and more.

All the circuitry in the Raven X1 console was designed by master design engineer Tim Caswell, and therefore the signal path is made to pristine specs for the most critical audio work.

FULL FEATURE LIST:

Integration
