I have FL Studio 9. I'm looking to make hardcore/ southern bangers mostly like on soundclick, i will use them for an album and NEED mainstream quality! I really need to get this done. Are the sounds in FL Studio good enough?

I really don't think they are but i don't know. Would i need be better off recording sounds/tunes in my studio rather than sampling?

I would think so, since the room ambience and equipment play a big role but i see some people making decent beats from samples. How would i go upon taking a sample and recording it through my setup, like could i record through my monitors into my microphone or is there another way around this like through a cable? if so i don't know how to do that, could use some help there :p

Peace
I have no idea what you are asking. Sounds are not made of higher quality by re-recording their playback...that would seriously degrade the sound. They are made higher quality through mixing techniques like compression, EQ, distortion, stereo imaging, delay and reverb effects, etc. If you want your beats to sound "mainstream", you need to either learn mixing yourself (which requires years and years of practice) or pay someone who has the experience. While purchasing high quality drum kits, etc. will definitely be an improvement from using FL Studio's stock sounds, it still won't get you anywhere near what is required to be considered "mainstream" quality. You have worded your post in a way that suggests you are looking for some type of quick-fix magic solution that simply does not exist, so you are not likely to get many replies.

I just put out a free sample pack with kicks, snares, claps, hats, etc. and it's in a thread on the first page. Just look. It literally says "43MB 80+ Samples).

Not sure what you mean by "high quality samples"... samples of what? Just drums? Songs?

In any case, you can find tons of free, high quality drum kits with a little bit of time spent on google.

Try this site for drum kits and other ish:
TheSample.net - Free Hip Hop Samples & Production Resource

But if you're referring to like, song samples and such, either get your own turntable and record them yourself into your computer or just use any mp3 files?

Still confused.

First of all i would like to know if anyone knows where i can get some high quality samples?

Search around on this forum and you will find a numerous amount of resources to get some nice sounds. There also members on the forum itself who create sounds for sale. If you don't want to spend money, then sample kicks, snares and hats yourself from Vinyl. If you do not own vinyls (then shame on you), use commercial CD's and rip away on your DAW.
If you are talking about music samples, then this again is a matter of trial and error. Go through old songs, old records, and just search and go with what you like the sound of.

I have some but most pretty much suck and lose quality sometimes when i change the pitch or something, i need fat sounds. I also would like to know how i could make my own 808 kick/bass from scratch, what kick drum or MPC or what?

One step at a time. How are you going to make a great kick when you don't have a great kick to replicate? Go through some songs, listen to what you like. Sample the kick - then try reverse engineer that kick. If you want already made solid sounds to buy, most people don't go wrong with Sonic Specialists (google it).

I have FL Studio 9. I'm looking to make hardcore/ southern bangers mostly like on soundclick, i will use them for an album and NEED mainstream quality! I really need to get this done. Are the sounds in FL Studio good enough?

I use FL Studio 9. Great DAW if you know what you are doing. However, do not use FL Studios internal sounds because they suck more than Heather B. You need to buy external sounds, both drums and synthy stuff. FL Studio is awesome to get creative with, but really should not be used for it's internal sounds. (That's just my opinion - I love FL, but will not reward it for it's sounds)

I really don't think they are but i don't know. Would i need be better off recording sounds/tunes in my studio rather than sampling?

Sample good sounds, i.e. kicks and snares. Then for synths/bass/leads etc, buy some nice VST Plugs. There are thousands upon thousands you can get, several of them are excellent - close to all of them are compatible with FL.

man.. the instant gratification factor these days is off the charts.. this shit doesn't happen overnight. it requires WORK. Which, when you have a PASSION for something, can come relatively EASY.
The desire to be a big producer and be rich and famous.. is not the look. Its not why you start.

Its like ppl cant even search.. as if it would take too long or something.
the original post... just taking keywords from that alone and spending a hour online would yield WAY BETTER results that you'll get from a thread like this one.

Just sayin..

having said that.. the post above mine is a great start. but all that info and a ridiculous amount more is available to you, without having to wait for replies, just by using google.

good luck man!

I know this thread is basically done....But...this is so true.

I have been doing this for 10 years now. I am better than I ever thought I would be. I am still far from where I want to be. Every time I get to where I want to be, I raise the bar. I still think I suck and I don't, **** it, I work my ass of to do this shit. I don't have a bunch of cats telling me I am dope. I have cats who say "yes" or more likely "no", simple as that.
