| I know this is really really late but i've only just found this post on Google. There is one place you can sell your beats, you can sell leases and exclusives. They don't take any commission and you can sell them on as many websites as you want, including MySpace and Facebook. You get some serious exposure, i'm raking in the sales with it. The website is Sell Beats Online on Unlimited Websites - myFlashStore.net |

Soundlick is allright but scale your prices down to 40-100 no matter what heat you got ![]() Then there`s "PMP worldwide" and "iStandardProducers". Those seem to be ledgit but the target audience isnt big enough. Its like 1000 producers and one buyer. You gon need that exta portion luck to get through. Once you did, 400-1000 aint a problem.

It will be hard to find anyone paying a thousand bucks for a beat online. As said scale down your price range back to reality , 10-100$ and you might get some business done. If you already can get 1000$ for a beat why even sell them online ? But to answer your question the safest way would be to set up an own webshop.

| 3 + infractions, forum membership suspended. | PMPworldwide would be the MOST likely place you can land some joints in the 1000s range. But remember you are competing with people who have been featured producers for months. Once you become a spotlight producer, things tend to pick up. But it's almost impossible to draw in viewers/buyers...in fact i have no idea where the buyers actually come from. At the time i was a member, there was no actual stat counter. The "Track drumps" are good for exposure I'm sure. Just know that your tracks will be mixed among 1000s of others LOL on a good day. Soundclick is standard. If you can pull in over 20k plays a song everyday...then you can be top 10...and that exposure will help make some sales. Just remember the top 10 dudes dont lease for 100$...soooo dont be different. And there's Rocbattle, which is the cheapeast and easiest. But prepared to setup 3 battles a day and vote on 30 battles a day just to even be significant. You have to get on the front page. ANd once again with all star lease prices set in the 20$ range. |

| How does this shit work as far as sample clearance is concerned? Is it just the responsibility of the buyer? |

| Sample Clearance Quote:
When getting sample licenses from labels and music publishers, they will want to know who's using it (their stature as an artist), how they're going to use it (how many physical copies artist will press)...etc. Expect the majors to require that you clear minimum of 5,000 copies. So its virtually impossible for someone who just makes a beat to get a license that will apply to the artist who ultimately uses it. I used to work at a record label and publishing company that owned both the publishing and the sound recording to a song used by one of Kanye's producers on a track that was on Graduation. His label cleared it and obtained a license from us, not the particular producer of the track. I might suggest making your beats subject to clearance by the licensee....possibly make two versions, one with the sample, and another just in case the rights holders don't wish to license the sample use. Short answer....hire an entertainment attorney to work out a customized standard deal that fits your needs, and use it over and over again. Cheers, Trey Rick

| Online sales over saturated This market is heavily over saturated. Most guys are just making their own beats these days. That's why Pop music and Bands are coming back. Keylay Productions |

| Selling beats Check out this site PHLO Buzz they seem pretty cool with selling beats. They allow you to sell both exclusive and non-exclusive and you dont have to pay sign up fees. The only fee I had to pay was membership upgrade and that was only once. Plus to answer your question you have the option of selling your beats up to $1,000. Its pretty cool I would advise anyone this site for selling music |

![]() bands are overflooded also and im sure every teeny girl wants to be britney still. problem is what most people dont understand in music things have to change. u cant have 1 type or style of music going for 100 years. the best are the ones that move with the times, u either move with the times or u will be moved out. look at someone like madonna, u think it would have worked if she still stuck with what she did when she started? hell no... so the underground rap days are over, it has its time and its gone. your main problem is this, if u aint gettin played on mtv or radio u aint gonna make it, unless u already have a strong act. biggest problem right now in the rap/hiphop selling beats? i would say people wanting to get signed but they just adding to the junk, its more important to be signed than actauly producing something good.

| $400 - $1,000 This is a decent range for more serious artists - as long as you bring excellent music to the table. But as mentioned above, no one will spend that kind of money strictly online. Make phone calls, meet with artists, and breathe an element of life into the person behind the music (you). ![]() ![]() |

| 20K plays!!! HOLY GOD! Quote:
My best beat is gettin 900+ plays/day and I thought that was good. But then I'v only sold 1 beat this month for $100 bucks exc and it wasn't even the 900+ beat How the hell do you get 20k plays a song in a day? WOW! I know its all about promotion for sure and those guys on top have strong name recognition so thats hard to compete with. I think after you hang on the charts top 50 for a while, ur brand starts catapaulting you foreward. And hopefully ur beats are gettin better too. Jus wanta throw this out there. I get 3-4k total song plays a day, and I jus got picked up to produce new beats/sound for a major worldwide artist. Maybe im jus supa Lucky or my beats jus resignated wit 'em. This normal?

| Selling your beats at that price is not a lot to ask for. If you believe and stand behind your product then only you can determine the value of it. I'd recommend posting your beats for sale at Greenhooks.com. In short, this site will allow you to establish credibility which in turn will justify any price that you suggest. | I think before we think about where to open shop, you need to think about how to promote yourself to actually get people to buy your beats. Not easy by any means, and it's lots of hard work. For example you can check out this guide on how to DIY: How to Sell Your Music - Audiofanzine |
