Jahrome is the definition of a babbling puppet, he's made people question Akai's business practices all over the internet. He's on every social production site and getting everything wrong from spelling to his own hardware's capabilities.

If Akai had any brain they would at LEAST hire someone that can be passionate about their product and actually use them efficiently.

But Jahrome this is to you, get off the NI forums, MPC forums, and GS, you get into arguments in every thread and get so off topic.

That being said, from sweet water to guitar center, they are all saying that the MPC Renaissance is going to be released by September.

And I am please to share/exchange info as I am here to talk about the Ren and MPCs in general. Everything else is not relevant.

By the way...I was just checking out the MPC Fly video. That turntable function in the Sample Record Mode is really cool. That is the type of function that Akai should consider adding to the Ren.

why would you want this on the ren ? when you can have a real Technic SL-1200 .. beside you ... and i dont think it would work .. the rens screen is not a touch screen . and plus its to small ... but yea the mpc fly is kinda dope

Because SL 1200 only scratches vinyl. Also, its very possible to make the Ren touch screen. Remember that its software is on your PC. Using a touch-screen PC monitor, Akai can do the same as the Fly. Also, the Ren has a data wheel. They can add scratching using the data wheel.

You can use almost any touch screen with a mac Plug & Play, especially any screen that uses ELO drivers.

OS X is very much touch screen compatible.

With an iMac if you have an external screen with a touchscreen, sure. And yes, you can with a Mac Pro if you have touchscreens hooked up. Same goes for the Mac Mini.

You can always get creative and modify your iMac screen, there are people who do that. It works well.

It's no different than using a touchscreen on a PC: You just need to buy a touchscreen, and 99% of the computers don't come with one.

If you're gonna get a touchscreen, what would be the point of the controller hardware? And why wouldn't you just use the software you already own?

By the way, touchscreens and desktop software = oil and water.

Leave my vision alone. Add the Fly's Turntable function to the Ren. You can use the Ren's data wheel to operate the turntable function. Or if you have a touch screen monitor, than it would operate just like the Fly.

My next feature suggestions include an Akai S950 vintage mode and to add the filters of Akai S series samplers and legacy MPCs to Program Edit Mode.

No it wouldn't. The fly is designed for touch operation. The Ren software isn't. The controls are way too small and too close together for your finger.

I have traktor time-coded vinyl on 1200s + MPC 2000xl + Maschine all hooked up to a mac pro.

There is nothing the Renaissance has to offer me.

And a little wikki wikki ability on the MPC Renaissance? Are you guys serious? Even the Sugar Hill Gang would laugh you guys out of town.

The Ren software isn't designed for touch operation? Did you just violate your NDA? lol Stop messing with my wet dream. How can the controls for my vision be too small if it doesn't actually exist?

MPC DJ controller is a cool idea if it comes with dj software package that includes sampling, editing, sequencing like an MPC. I want to talk to my DJ friends to see what they think.

C'mon Jahrome you don't need more than a screenshot to figure that out. It's not a wet dream if you're awake; that's called masturbation.

Incidentally, I don't think the MPC's data wheel could handle 'scratching'. Much like a USB DJ mixer with the plastic jog wheels, you would get significant slippage, and it would only be good for backspinning because there aren't enough mechanical 'teeth' underneath the jog wheel to catch the subtleties of scratching. That said, they could very easily include algorithms for 'braking' and possibly drawing envelopes to simulate a scratching effect.

I do hope that Ren software can be used without the hardware as I'd like to continue editing on my laptop without an ilok or dongle hanging from my USB ports.

I currently own a MPC 4000 and I am waiting for the MPC Ren. I want to sale my 4000 when the Ren comes out, but I haven't seen anything on transferring the content to my cpu. Any Ideas on how to get my info off the 4000 into the computer. Aksys, doesn't work on Windows 7.
