That's the exact same reason I had to part way with sonar nearly drove me insane

Well I found it after doing some YouTube searches.... Man. Only beef is I can't record the audio out separately. But yo! I'm most def going to look into this. I still think maschine as a plugin sucks because the controller is hit or miss but studio one just proved its a bang ah. So I don't mind tracking in it then stem out to protools.
Dude its crazy easy!

You can route all 16 channels out tothe mixer in seconds or just use mashine's drag and drop audio...I do everything in S1 now

Yeah that's how I do it with Maschine and Studio One, 16 channels out, MPC style, very easy, and to me it works better than Drag and drop.

I have found one thing that is really ticking me off about Studio One. 50% of the time it burns coasters for CDs. Even after latest upgrade. It sucks in this aspect. Such a simple function. I have gone back to Samplitude for CD compilation and burning.

I just watched some videos outlining the features of this......wow.....

I've been looking for a DAW that could be my one stop shop....could this be it?

tried the demo....pretty impressed.

the only thing that would make this a true one stop shop for me though was if it had Traktor like features/support and I could lace cuts

Good read here. I will have P.S.O.v2 in a few days hopefully. I think it is the best DAW on the market! I've been watching youtube vids as well to get a visual picture of how it will be to work with it. I am wondering though, will I be able to import wav sounds I have on my flash drive? What formats will the program accept? Things that make you go hmmmm. I am GOD-FR33 by the way; it's nice to come across a fellow Presonus user.

I'm considering doing the same thing. I really really really really wanna drop Cubase. I played with Studio One V2 for a bit, but the undo really pissed me off (I believe I was trying to bounce something to audio, it didn't work correctly, tried to undo and the undo deleted the new track and lost the original forever). Other than that, I quite like it. I'v worked with everything except pro tools, which I do want to play with first - but studio one is the only PC DAWI would currently even consider switching to.

So far the only thing I see wrong with the program is you can't Print stems......Where are the Busses...... And I miss the way how pro tools categorizes plugins......EQ, DYM, Etc....

You can print stems. Busses? Fastest yet. Just highlight tracks you want to buss and click "create buss". Those tracks will automatically be routed to the new buss. I like the PT categories too. Not sure if Studio One can do that.

It's a simple program but sometimes we have to check the manual.

Anyone else having issues burning CD coasters? I've tried all burn speeds and always make IMG file first. Half the time CDs r no good.

Im actually talking about recording from a Bus. When you select an input on the track, It brings you too the I/O Screen.

is it me, or this DAW "sounds" great?

I did a mix in Pro Tools 10. Came out cool. Did same mix in STudio 1 v2 and the mix cam FASTER and "sounds" much better.

Everything about S1 makes sense if you are all digital. There's no outdated functionality left over cos it's designed for now, not yesterday. I love the K system metering, very useful when mixing for different productions, classical, pop etc. The midi implementation and linking up to hardware controllers is very easy to use. The I/O set-up is painless and well designed. The drag and drop, auto creation of dropped tool/track etc is quick. The "layer" in a track is brilliant for many things, comping takes, trying out different takes etc. The ARA integration with Melodyne is extremely useful, quick - although has anyone noticed load times go up dramatically when multiple melodynes are in use? The sound you get from it is top notch including the Pro-EQ which to my ears sounds better than Sonnox EQ, which is what I used to use, less obvious, smoother somehow. I think the included spectrum meter you can display inside the eq is very useful and a real time saver - why wouldn't you click the "Hi Quality" button?

With S1 V2 I'm getting through projects faster and the quality is higher, so for me it's a real winner - love it. Before this I've used most DAW's at one time or another and they have all bugged me in some way, this not so much - except maybe the long opening times of some bigger projects, maybe it's just me...

I wish they would show us (teach themselves) how to use strip silence (or a noise gate) so the voice dub doesn't sound so bloody annoying...

Jeez.

I have Pro tools 10,cubase 6 Logic 9 and I just bought S1 2 weeks ago.My main compute is Mac (I also have Pc's in my studio).I used Cubase from atari days ,Logic from v4 (Pro Tools sometimes),now mainly I make music ,but also mix and record, Logic to me feels "old" ,Cubase performance in OSX is 'far' from competing with e.g Logic (in PC is different story).S1 has everything ,performance in OSX is great ,the program feels fresh, very fast ,and great plug ins inside, now there are some things that i need sometimes that are not found in S1 ,but that's the reason I invested on all the major DAW's (specific task with specific DAW).I love S1 I just hope that they will implement EUcon very soon (for now I use my artist series in mackie mode ).

Hey all,

I was tempted to switch from Sonar on my PC to Studio One on my Macbook Air. I just read that Artist doesn't allow you to use external plugins so I'd have to buy either Producer or Professional. The only difference being Professional has a mastering suite etc. Is it worth the extra money for that or are there other mastering programs to use that would be better?
