Thread Starter | mpc general question when you guys are playing back drums samples or other samples in the mpc, does the length of time u press down the pads in the mpc affect the duration of the sample being played? eg: u have a 2 second guitar loop, but u only press down the pad for 1 second, does the whole sample play? I'm asking this because i'm trying to mimick the mpc's behaviour in battery, so should i use a "one shot mode" where all the samples play completely regardles off how long i press down the note for..................or should i fiddle with the adsr to emulate an mpc response? |

| there are different modes you can set each sample that will either play the entire sample or just during the length you hold down the pad... (atleast that's the way it is for the 4k and i'm sure it's the same across the board.) |

But you wouldn't use one-shot for open hats..... Depends on the sample.... | |

| Plus if you want to manipulate that sounds then the ADSR is pretty useful, irrespective of the playback mode |

| I use one shot (mono) most of the time and just set other pads to cut off the sound if need be |
