| Saving money at these big studios I was venturing out of my Bedroom for the first time in a long time. I'm going to track a one of the Bigger studios in Philly with the SSL consoles (either The Studio or Indre I'll know within the hour!) Any suggestion?? Btw I'll just be tracking music out of MPC 3k thru Neves into protools. Thanks in Advance |

| How much are you paying per hour? I'm in Philly and I'll track the song for you for cheaper than their rate. I got Protools HD/Apogee rosetta 800, a pair of CIBs, Adesign MP2, a few dbx 160xts, a distressor, CL1-B, and a few brands of direct boxes etc.... If you absolutely NEED Neve flavor, I'll rent some Neve channels. |

Randy I'm not undercutting. I imagine an SSL room would have to charge more than I would. And as it stands he'd be paying for more than he needs. So it would make sense to track @ home or a smaller spot. LOL Great Rooms are a plus, but they have little effect when all you are doing is plugging up the 8 outs of an MPC and pressing record | |

| thats real talk bro! the only benefit of tracking in the big studio is getting to smoke up THEIR equipment! i was in philly recording and was disappointed to find that the A room was WACK!!! my basement setup has better converters and i could rent the outboard stuff that i needed! 001 in the B room of a major studio? GET REAL....'phillystress', next time you have money to burn holla at 'nosslyet' he knows what he's doing! |

| ill do it for cheaper than SSL. Chandler/neve fatso lavry smart C2langevin. Cheaper cheaper cheaper. West philly. hahah sike, I would go to 'the studio' to mix( if thats the type of advice you want) , I did alot of work at crash and some people migrated indre to crash. it was prolly the other way around as well tho.

| I will take care of all of my Philly slutbrothers. Just shoot me a note. I have heard plenty of really good stuff and the occasional bad stuff out of both Indre and Crash. From what I understand, both are certainly good enough facilities that the engineer is going to be the key factor as to whether an artist or outside producer has a good experience there. And the same is true here at Turtle. Of course, my guys are outstanding, and world-class musicians to boot. That's why I hired them. We have a bunch of great DI flavors and/or we can always patch line-level straight into the AD-16x into Pro Tools HD. No big deal. We charge a reduced rate for transfer jobs like this, because the setup and teardown time are next to nothing, and also because it's a chance to meet and make connections with our fellow Philly producers and musicians. That's a good thing for everybody. |
