Nothing I can think of compares to komplete, unfortunately. As far as synths I like omnisphere. But there's not much there in terms of drums and it can be pretty CPU heavy. Depending on your daw you might have half of what komplete has to offer.
You'll want 3rd party samples (I.e big fish audio and vengeance), samples from records/keyboards/drum machines and the know how to make your own in the long run.

only thing... imo there's a new komplete too often.
makes you feel like you bought some outdated sh!t right after you walk out the store.

plus... you won't be using half the sh!t because there's just tons of sh!t.
after a while you'll be coming back to a couple of apps out of the 10001212 included.

That is so true, I only got Komplete 7 a few months ago, so I was gutted when I heard about 8.

The version of 8 that comes installed on its own hd is a brilliant idea... that 100gb install is a killer.

But there's nothing that's as good as komplete, as a bundle. especially when you consider that each of the separate instruments are only like £100 less than the whole lot together... and once you learn Reaktor properly, you can really do a lot with it.
