I have a chance to get one at a good deal and was just wondering how it compares to something like a motif or triton.

Better built. Touch screen is way slower. Can't expand (bar MOSS board - which is cool). Sounds tight, still. (I think so anyway). Love mine. Trinity V3. |

Thanks, man. I'm actually looking into the TR-Rack, so the touch-screen is a non-issue. Are the basses useable for hip hop? Are the EP's on par with the Motif? Thanks! |

I've got good mileage from the basses. I either use the JV, Trinity, or Proteus in that order. EP's are fine, but then again an EP sounds like an EP sounds like an EP to me. Know what I'm sayin? I like the hardware stuff. It's physical, and doesn't chew up my CPU tryin to be all things to all tasks. I'll tell you this tho. I toyed with the idea of getting a Triton cuz they were (and still are) 'hot'. Plugged some cans in and demo'd one for an hour or so - I wasn't sold. IMHO I thought my Trinity sounded better. Tritons are expandable tho. Motif's? - can't comment, don't have one. I'd like on tho to add the flavor. EP's are supposed to be fire on Motif. Must be the Yammie DX legacy... |

TR rack is nice but more of the sounds are dated then the ones that aren't. I really don't think there is any point in buying hardware at this point. Try a soft synth like trilogy or kontakt. | |

Yeah, I think I'm going to go for it... it only $275. I'm not a fan of softsynths since they seriously limit my # of RTAS plugins.
