I'm using the demo version now. I think I wll buy this immediately when the 7 day trial ends. These plugins are very nice, I've tried all other plugins but these seem to act more like hardware guys. I'm really enjoying the urs eq's and the ssl bundle together. Pretty sweet!

I ran some drum samples thru the plugins a few minutes after installing them to see how they sound. you can hear the clips here.

Just to let ya'll know:

From Waves....

on March 7, the price on the SSL Bundle is going up to $2000 for TDM and $1000 for Native.
We'll continue the special we have been doing until the 7th and then obviously the price will be going up considerably.

I may on occasion talk about some of the products I am a dealer for in my posts.. and that's OK! I sell them because I like them. Not vice versa. It's more fun to talk about things you know and love, then things you don't.

That sounds just like Waves

They put the product on the market and if it doesn't sell, put it in a bundle
If it becomes popular... well... it was a special price, raise it fuuck

Life's to short for WUP!

Well, at least we were able to get some inside info 4 days beforehand.

Test

Would someone who has this bundle and the URS bundle please post a test for me and others.

Post say a vocal with no eq, separate stereo drum mix with no eq

Then the waves 2 ssl variations, and URS 3 variations (ssl mainly though)

with identical Q, Gain, and freq settings.

Say (for starters) one setting that shows the hi end, another that shows the mids, and another that shows the lows.

Infact if we develop a certain "standard" for settings we can pit all the EQ plugins against one another and decide which really does what well.

This will remove the pretty graphics bias from the test also.

Hell we could also match levels and test outboard eq (though there will be the sound of the converters to be considered but still I'd like to hear different eqs' strengths

^^i do this a lot with plug-in-eqs, and when you really match them(not just that they show the same q, but actually that they have the same q, because they differ a lot), the differences are often really small.

i would like to see the same thing with analog-eqs.

A blind test has already been conducted and discussed over at the 'High end' forum.
