MPD32 Tap Tempo in Reason

Has anybody ever figured out how to get the tap tempo on the MPD32 to work in Reason?

apparently it's possible, as this guy seems to have it working, but following his instructions didn't work for me.....when I switch controls from MMC to Midi.....they all stop functioning with reason

Akai doesn't appear to have any tole free type support line either or I'd bug them......pretty useless feature if not readily integrated with DAWS, if you ask me!

Did you make the changes in Reason?

it doesnt work that way. The Tap Tempo transport only recieves midi data in Reason. Since Reason does not send midi back the tap tempo will not work properly until Propellerheads fixes that in Reason. Alternatively you can assign the tap tempo to any button you wish on your mpd
