sound on sound had a pretty cool article on dj vadim's recording techniques/chain.

RM's vocals are awful beefy/warm. I'd like to know that myself. there's a couple of ninjatune artists that post on here from time to time. maybe they have some insight?

I suspect those cats don't mess about when it comes to mics/preamps/ analog to digital conversion.

No doubt - it's still cool to know what he's using, it's not just the voice. The beats stick out to me too.

His first few albums he did most of the beats himself, with some contributions from some other uk producers like wayne bennet (lotek hifi)

The last album he got a few beats from lotek, and did sketches himself then brought in musicians to develop the tracks
