GURU and Trigger Finger.

I'm having a really ddifficult time assigning pads to M-Audio's Trigger Finger from FXspansion's GURU. I've got it going with Reason and Live just fine...

Some folks on the FXpansion boards gave me a bunch of MIDI note values to assign, but no info as to what goes where and how.

I guess I really need a step-by-step to make it happen.

Help?

C1 on the bottom left pad goin up in semitone increments to the right...
Pretty easy to figure out if you use Enigma software provided with the trigger finger.
if you still cant sort it ill email you my template.

right+click on a guru pad, select "midi learn". hit the trigger finger pad you want to assign. Done

I've been fooling around with guru and the MPC4K. I can't seem to make the botom four pads on the MP coincide with botom four in guru. The botom four pads changes the guru pattern selector. The second from the bottom row on the MP controlls the bottom row in guru. So to play the top row in guru, I have to switch to bank b on the MP and play the bottom row. Follow me?

d.dot - At the moment you'll need to re-map the pads on the MPC - pattern keys can't be remapped right now. We realise this isn't ideal - it will be addressed in an update.

mishima - each engine in GURU uses its own MIDI channel (1-8) - this may be why you can't get it to co-operate with the TF, which defaults to channel 10.

There are enigma templates for GURU/Trigger Finger in the registered users download area.

I did this, and uploaded it to the device via Enigma, but no go. Is this because I need to set the TF to C1? I thought I already had...

Could someone please give me a step by step? I've tried every scrap of instruction offered on every board I can find, and still nothing.

mayur_FX, another issue you all may want to look into is how GURU handles tempo changes. GURU will drop notes when fed tempo changes from protools.

Thanks

I was told the default TF channel is 10. i tried switching it to 1 (the channel of GURU's engine 1). I thought I did it right, but I guess not.

I'm looking for a play-by-play at this point.

I've got the exact same problem. I can't get Guru to recognize my trigger finger. It works fine in reason though. Can anyone help me out?

You need to use the Enigma software editor that comes with the Trigger Finger to set it up so that it's sending on midi channel 1 (or 11).

Okay thanks. Will I have to use Enigma to switch every time I go back and forth between reason?

Nope, just store a Reason preset in one of the TF's memories, and a Guru preset in another.

I have a similar problem but with a edrum. I can't assign the pads correctly. snare and hithat works but not the damn kick. When I hit the kick midi assign it to B0 in Cubase. Even if I replace the C1 position in Guru to B0 it won't work. + the midi learn feature do not work.

??? thanks
