I was completely floored when I learned Jay Dee passed away just minutes ago.

R.I.P. James Yancey

He had an absolutely tremendous career.

I have been bumping "Donuts",almost nonstop, since it dropped on the 7th...

So many great tracks, I can't say enough... thumbsup
"Don't Cry","Gobstopper","Anti-American Graffiti","Hi","Dilla Says Go" ...all so beautiful...

Most particularly the track "Two Can Win"...
...it's absolutely beautiful....in every way...

...I thought *this is one of the best song titles I have ever seen*, Genre aside.

I never liked the Marxist/Freudian concept of :
"It is the nature of Power, that in order for one to have to have more, another must have less"
Complete nonsense. TWO CAN WIN!! YES !!

I am praying an MC like Common, Kweli, or Black Thaught would speak Lessons over this truly beautiful track.
Lessons about how people, in both Life & Love, should stop thinking of things in win/lose terms...
...and all attempt to be patient enough with each other, to reach a Win/Win...everytime. This is very possible.

I apologize for this ramble, and I hope God is kicking it w/ Dilla right now...

He was a true original...and he will be greatly missed.

R.I.P. J Dilla

May Peace be upon your soul.

This is just too sad... ripped away right in the middle of an incredible career. From my perspective this might just be the biggest loss the hip hop community has suffered so far. Man´s gonna be a Jimi for the hip hop generation.

BTW, go to stonesthrow dot com if you still don´t belive it...

Jay Dee rest in peace.
He had the gift of putting human into the machine.
Definitely a legend and he earns a billing on the marquis
of greatest hip hop producers ever.

He had like 2 record release partys this week.

The stuff he did with Tribe, Pharcyde, Roots, De La, Slum Village... man...

This is a big loss for hip hop and the music community. I don't think anyone will be able to pick up his torch.

RIP.
