the mixpressor has an LA2A limiter preset..it sounds good..the La2A compressor preset sounds real good on vocals..I'd reccomend mixpressor for that sound.

never really messed with sonalksis, gotta check it. right now I use RenComp, with PristineSpace with a nice IR as well as Color tone, to make a very nice colorful. Nobody mentioned Vintage Warmer, no good for vocage?

| Lives for gear | i like the Vintage Warmer on drums and to make keyboards dirty too. Never used it on a vocal.

Vintage Warmer is sick on vocals, but running multiple instances can kill a cpu. This is my optimum configuration if i have cpu to do it: Waves Q-clone with SSL Xlogic impulse (available here, search q-clone) run flat or high pass filtered at 60-80 hz with preset Waves Rvox if the voc needs a little extra color Sonalksis comp if the voc already has nice character Vintage Warmer run real mild like with the knee at zero, fast attack, fast to medium release (20-50) If you've got a decent pre and mic, you should be able to come close to what you would get with an outboard comp.

When the Waves SSL stuff comes out, chances are i'll be hitting that G eq and the comp alot.
