SM7 or ADK Vienna?

I'm considering either the Shure SM7b or ADK Vienna for a small studio setup to go along with a Studio Projects VTB-1 and a DBX 163x compressor. After selling my NTK, the only mic I have in my arsenal now is a SM57.

This is primarily for rap vocals and some singing. I was leaning toward the SM7 because I've had good results with dynamics in the past and I'm also going for a VERY slight vintage vocal sound. However, I'm afraid that gain wise, the VTB-1 might not cut it as the preamp.

What do you think is a better choice? I really am leaning toward the SM7 because I'd rather have a pro dynamic than a knockoff condenser. Ultimately I just want the best sound.

Help me out, thanks,
Marrvel

Yeah, its really hard to say...

The ADK is surpricingly nice for that money, and as you said yourself, a dynamic relies much more on the pre to sound good.

Hmmm... first off, do you want a dynamic or a condensor?

sometimes, i don't know anyone that uses it for rap though.

i can't say that i've even really considered it for lead vocals though, i'll do some experimenting.
