PHilly aint New Orleans

Ok so what's the spots to hit in Philly? I've done the old city stuff. Been to Bluezettes, The wax club, Red skyy etc...

Still looking for WOMEN and cool spots to shoot pool.

Also wanna hook up with some PHilly Musicians and do some work.

So anyone got the scoop? holla back!

OH YEAH SOUTH Street HAS NOTHING on Bourbon Street

When you say Musicians ,do you mean your looking for the Hip Hop Scene or Actual Musicans?? Try NY man. Only 2 hours away and you'll find everything you're looking for.
You have to be born in this city to appreciate it!!

WHen I say "MUSICIANS"

I mean musicians. you know those cats who learn to flat the 3rd to make it minor and still smoke weed in papers/waterpipes

Coming from a city of "houses" seeing row houses is kinda drab to me. Plus the women are different (they are nice in NY though)

Actually I used to take an Amtrak to NY and get there in an hour, but I'd rather work in Philly (where I dont have to pay through the nose for food/lodging) I can eat/sleep at the apartment.

Nuk come on up, you can crash on the sofa if u need to, u know u good just get here if u are coming

yeah man,
Black lily and beat society are decent events... The gathering happens once a month at the rotunda on 40th and walnut... Metro Lounge can be cool sometimes for some DJs. Oh and hat Ukranian club comes with some crazy shit every once and a while, but philly keeps everything dl. Most cats are home working on their own thing for sure.

I dont even think Philly ucks with Down South music (maybe just the shorties)... as a matter of fact I've never heard a Philly cat on some down south beats... maybe I wrong... you might be stuck... troop up top or to DC...

Man I'm looking to find musicians and you are telling me about Gamble & HUFF. Hell thats like me talking about Jelly Roll Martin, Wynton & Branford and the gang along with The Meters if you were looking for musicians in New Orleans LOL I know there was some music made in Philly I just need some musicians.

As far as the local scene and people being picky, WTF does that have to do with finding musicians to do session work?

What I dont see on the local scene is alot of cats doing indi stuff BUT I admit I havent done enough searching. I dont see Philly as anymore picky than the rest of the U.S. a good record will sell anywhere.

Nuk: mainly guitar/bass BUt i'd like to go to a good room and do some brass stuff too

Hell I wouldnt mind cutting a string section if I get a vibe on a song that calls for it.

Every time I hear Sam Cooke sing "a change gon come" I get the urge to do ANYTHING with some nice string arrangements

Check out the Clef Club.

Go to Ortleib's.

Go to the Painted Bride.

Listen to Mike Bailey on WRTI late on Friday nights.

Track down/seek out the Roots fam. Since they are like an iceberg, there's far more folks below the radar than one would think.

As an ole head artist here in Philly, I'm only interested in connecting when I need somebody to work with and I have some money to pay them. But that's me and my issues.

Peace.
