Yo Disco, that's some mad-ass afro man!

Surprised, u reworked the other beat. It's way hotta track now, the hook is what it should have been with the brazilian crew. Love the casio tones. I've been ****ing with my casio sk-5 sampler lately.... good times....good track
peace

Disco, BRAZA sounds HUGE. Did you mix that in the box? Summing box? Good work.

the vox were recorded on either an AKG3000 or whatever or a TLM103 forgot which mic we had access to, with a mackie board preamp (BOOOOOOOO - but hey it's brasil)

plugins were my standard set - filterbank, mc2000, renaissance verb, standard digi delay, renaissance compressor, mondomod, metaflanger.

Dude, I know they suck, but you can get some bangin' ass mixes on the M1 crapptones. I used them for years when I was dirt ass poor.

So what's the idea disco, does the federline release have any affiliation with this new track, like is it a single that will have the brazillian on the b-side?

no, totally separate. You have to understand 2 things:

1) those drum patterns and stuff are from an entire separate genre of music called Baile Funk that originated in the favelas of Rio

2) I wrote the Braza track the day before I wrote the Federline track which was 2 months before I even met Federline. I gave Kevin the option of both beats, he took #2, I tried to differentiate the two as much as possible.

D,
where did you get the sounds from/how were they processed? Is this a sequence of beats you put together, sampled, and then pushed the sample through fatso? Are the individual instruments live recordings or from a sound module/sampler.

Did you go:

1. pro-tools --> summer --> fatso or
2. pro-tools --> fatso

Beya

i chopped up some brasilian baile records, used some brasilian drum sounds my friend gave me along with this crazy old Africa kit by Akai. I used mostly MC2000 compressor to get the sound, with renaissance reverb and normal digi delay and mondo mod. I slapped the fatso across the stereo master bus in pro tools as an insert, i dont have a summer.
