thinking about switching from mpc 3000 to mpc 4000 - questions about the 4000

Im seriously considering switching from the mpc 3000 to the 4000 and i was wondering if i any of you guys could help me out with these questions about the mpc 4000.

1. How is the groove and swing compared to the mpc 3000?

2. How does the mpc 4000 sound on drums (convertors) compared to the 3000?

3. Can i play multiple midi channels at once? For example i want to stack a string sound from the motif with a string sound from the triton and i want to be able to play them stacked at the same time and sequence them.

4. How many numbers can i shift notes forwards or backwards? Can i shift notes forwards and backwards while my sequence is playing?

5. Can i stream sounds from the hard drive and preview them with a click of a button while my sequence is playing? Then is it easy to load that sound on to a pad? For example i have a string line playing and while its playing i want to preview drum sounds on the 80gig hard drive with the click of a button without loading them on to the pads to see which drums fit the best with my string line.

5. You can have a maximum of 512GB's of sounds loaded into internal memory right? Can i preview those aswell with the click of a button while my sequence is playing without assigning them to the pads? And can i quickly assign the sound i like to a pad?

6. Can i change the swing of individual instruments and drum tracks in real time while my sequence is playing?

7. Is there actually a real time time stretch that will allow me to change the tempo of a loop without changing the pitch? How good is it and how many bpm's can i go up and down without any artifacts?

8. Are there still any bugs in the lastest OS release? Is the 4000 easy to navigate through?

9. Do they sell the blue versions yet?

10. Can somebody point out a few great sounding hip-hop records done on the 4000 so i can get an idea of what it sounds like?

Thanks soooooo much in advance, im really debating wheather or not to make the switch and i would really like to know the answers to these questions by a 4000 owner. Im currently using cubase to sequence my instruments and im dumping drums in from the mpc 3000 and its just too much work and its not effective. It takes too much time and im not diggin cubase's sequencer. So im thinking of switching to the 4000. Again if a 4000 owner could help me out that would be amazing! Thanks in advance!

damn that's a long list man...go to www.mpc-forums.com, register and do searches on all your questions. I'm sure they've been answered before.

Ok i'll try and answer this one

1. I think the swing is the same (might be a mental thing if you feel a diffirence)

2. The converters on the 4000 are verry good, might not be what you like (the 3000's converters sound a bit darker to my ears)

3. possible, you can select midi output while playing sequence (verry handy)

4. don't know that actually, know that it can't be done while sequencer is running

5. don't know that, have to try that (will do that later, hit me with a PM cause I will forget), you can scroll through your sounds (in memory) while playing a sequence. There is a pad assignment button that you can press while playing a sequence. you can change each sound for each pad while playing the track

6. not possible, woul be a nice feature in future os update

7. no realtime timestretch (or i havent found it yet)

8. I havent had a problems with the latest os (1.71), easy to work on (I've switched from a 2000 to the 4000, also got a 60, only use thatone for sound)

9. just call your local musicstore and find out

10. check out some Just Blaze tracks (last 2 years i think)
or Buckwild productions and ofcourse GS's own Disco D (50 Cent - Ski Mask Way)
