Used Motif 7 for $800 or New Motif 6es for $1700

Are the ES editions that much better? What would be the better purchase between these?

They cover the differences here. It's up to you to decide if it is worth it.

I have the motif, and I use the EX in the studio sometimes. It's like the difference between a Fantom-S and an X, not much. Actually the stock motif comes with the spdif optical, and the ES doesn't, that's a big drawback to me. The sounds that are in the ES are almost the same and they both sound good.

I still love the motif classic.. There is a different in sound compared to the ES. The ES sounds cleaner, I like the classic cause it has a grimier sound. They have the same presets, but unless you A/B the two the diffrence will rise. I wish they still made the 88 key!

Thats a pretty good price for the 7. You should buy it and then buy a ES rack and it will cost you about 1700.
