Hit samples. Where to get them ?

In every new single that gets out i hear an orchestra hit or a bell or some other sound at the first bar, where to get them ? Where do you get them ? What about synth stabs, how do you make them ? I sometimes get lucky with these but honestly i'd use some help with these.

Regards

Original QS6, it's in all the south songs.

Back in the day on the MC Hammer records, it was the RX-5 or RX-7.

Peace out,

i dig thru the crates to get hits, im not much of an orchestra hit guy but i do like some if they don't have that corny 80s sound, sometimes i get a few sounds and layer them to make my own hit but usually there is some kind of sample involved to give it an authentic sound. sometimes like a horn hit and layer it with some strings etc. i don't know if that helps what your looking for.

try googling some Orchestra Hit sound fonts. The Vst Halion sampler can read sound fonts I think.

Gimme an example of a record that has a hit or bell like you're looking for?

Hit

Man...to get those hits all you do is layer a string (hit notes like c2,c3,c4 all together for example), a bass note which is the same as the lowest string note, and some synth with a slower release on it and you will have a dope hit(hit the two highest notes that you hit with the string). Just experiment a bit and you will get it. Trust Me.

Thanks all for the replies. I wasn't looking for a special sound of some particular song but more wanted to know how generally hits are done since i don't do that very often.

It's great that everyone put in their aspect of it, imma go and bang out some hits right now :)

Yeah, that tip with the different octave layers is a very good one.A sure way to make some tight Orch hits, as I've come to see.U could sample HQ Orchestral to create some banging hits too.I've seen producers do it and to great effect.Filter and EQ to specs, as required.
